On February 14, 2022, the newly refurbished Evergreen Community Center & Library opened at the southeast corner of Evergreen Park. From 1973-81, an Evergreen branch library had been located in the community service center building on the west end of Evergreen Park. In 1978, Library Director Richard Rademacher proposed combining the services of that branch with two other small library branches into a new building at Evergreen Park. That idea did not come to fruition until 2002 when the Minisa and Marina Lakes branches were consolidated and the Evergreen Branch Library opened in a remodeled facility formerly known as the Wichita Arts and Crafts building. The branch stayed there until a remodel from late 2020 through early 2022 temporarily sent library services back to the community center building.
This facility combines library services with the City of Wichita's District VI Neighborhood Resource Center and community organizations. It includes meeting spaces of various sizes, including the dividable Cirilo Arteaga Empowerment Room.
