The Wichita Public Library offers meeting rooms of various sizes for reservation at all locations during business hours.
New Meeting Room Policy
While offering meeting space for reservation is a key aspect of connecting the public, we ask that all activities taking place in the reservable meeting rooms are aligned with the Library's mission and strategic goals beginning January 2026. Providing free access to services, resources, and programs that raise literacy levels and foster a greater sense of community in Wichita is our priority at the Wichita Public Library.
As a result, meeting rooms will no longer be available to reserve for commercial purposes or individual usage. Wichita Public Library-sponsored events, events offered by Library partners and support organizations, and City of Wichita events will be prioritized. These meeting spaces will still be available to reserve for organizations and non-profits engaged in educational, intellectual, charitable, advocacy, civic or religious activities so long as the group and meeting support the Library's mission and strategic priorities.
These policy changes are effective January 2026, but the ability to reserve a Library meeting room in 2026 begins November 1, 2025. Meeting rooms for the upcoming year will then be available to reserve at no cost for groups that meet the eligibility criteria. An active library card in good standing will be required to make a reservation. If you don't already have one, you can learn how to register for a library card.
All meetings must be free of charge and open to the public. Groups may have up to 5 active reservations at any time and are not permitted to make standing reservations. An active library card in good standing will be required to make a reservation.
Groups or individuals that no longer qualify for meeting room reservation access in 2026 may still reserve meeting rooms for the remainder of 2025. To reserve spaces next year, we recommend reserving rental facilities with the City of Wichita's Park & Recreation department.
