Important Dates in Sedgwick County

Primary Election: August 2, 2022

  • June 1, noon: Deadline for candidates to file for most offices in the Primary Election or to withdraw from the Primary & General Elections. Also the deadline for questions to be submitted for the Primary Election.
  • June 10, noon: Deadline for candidates to file for the U.S. House, state legislature, State Board of Education, and precinct commitee positions
  • June 24: Election officials will complete certification of the list of candidates for the Primary Election
  • July 12: Last day to register to vote in the Primary Election
  • July 13: The Sedgwick County Election Office begins mailing advance ballots for the Primary Election
  • July 18-August 1: Early voting at the Sedgwick County Election Office
  • July 22: Last day for the Election Office to mail advance voting ballot applications
  • July 26: Last day advance ballot applications can be accepted for the Primary Election
  • July 28-30: Early voting at satellite sites around the county
  • August 2: Primary Election
  • August 11, 9 a.m.: Canvass of Primary Election. Election results are certified.
  • August 12, 5 p.m.: Deadline to request a recount.
