Needed: Teens just like YOU who can help shape teen services here at the library. Members of our Teen Advisory Board meet once a month at the Advanced Learning Library and are given the opportunity to discuss and share their ideas about teen programming, the teen collection, and other library services. Along the way, you'll make new friends, earn volunteer hours, and become involved in the community. Make a difference – join the Library's TAB! Open to teens in grades 6-12.

Since 1990, Summer Reading Teen Volunteers have been an integral part of carrying out the Wichita Public Library's Summer Reading Program. Teens can earn more than 30 hours of volunteer service over the course of the program.
Summer Reading Teen Volunteers perform many tasks! They help families and peers enroll in summer reading and collect prizes. They tidy Library areas, can assist with shelving, prepare crafts, cut paper, and organize items. They can also help Library staff with special events and programs.
Volunteers will be assigned to one location for the summer. You may indicate your 1st choice and 2nd choice on your application. Due to remodel projects scheduled at multiple library locations this year, only the Advanced Learning Library, Evergreen, and Walters will accept summer reading volunteers in 2024.
Applications for the 2024 Summer Reading Volunteer Program will become available for download on March 8. Completed applications will be accepted by the Library beginning March 15.
For information about other volunteer opportunities, visit the Library's main Volunteer page.
