The Wichita Public Library is your destination for free educational resources. Whether you are asking your students to conduct research on a certain topic or need to find the latest and greatest books on numerous subjects, the Library is the place to visit.
Our staff have curated a collection of resources and services you might find useful.
You can get a free Wichita Public Library card from any seven of our locations. You can register for one of two types of card:
Minors age 17 and younger need to be accompanied by an adult with a library card in good standing to get a library card. The signing adult will be responsible for all use of the library card. Minors may use the identification of the signing adult for address verification.
Some services require a library card in good standing. Your account is in good standing when the amount of fees or lost charges is below $10 and there are no items more than 15 days overdue.
If you want to turn your e-card into a borrower's card, stop by any of our seven locations. For ages 17 and younger, bring your signing adult. Please bring proof of current address. Examples of acceptable identification include driver's license, Kansas ID card, and government-issued ID or passport. The signing adult's library card must be in good standing. Your account is in good standing when the amount of fees or lost charges is below $10 and there are no items more than 15 days overdue.
If you're an educator in Wichita Public Schools, your students are eligible as part of our Student E-card Partnership with USD 259. Otherwise:
A Wichita Public Library card provides free access to premium websites with reliable, expert information to make homework and school projects easy! Most of these resources can be accessed remotely with a Wichita Public Library card or student e-card.
